To mark the centenary of Pope Benedict XVI’s birth (April 16, 2027), the Ratzinger Vatican Foundation has launched a broad international program of over ten events running through 2026 across four continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, North America, and Africa). The first initiatives aim to explore Joseph Ratzinger’s thought and legacy, especially his interpretation of Vatican II, the centrality of Christ in theology, and reason as a foundation for understanding reality.

Key events include the September 10 Study Day at Péter Pázmány Catholic University in Budapest, presenting the third volume of Ratzinger's Complete Works in Hungarian; the October 28-30 conference in Almería, Spain, on "The Beauty of the Liturgy" alongside the unveiling of a statue dedicated to Benedict XVI; the Ratzinger Prize ceremony in December 2026; and the ongoing lecture series in Heiligenkreuz, Austria (through May 20) on "Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger as Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith." Other events are scheduled in India, Colombia, France, and the United States.

'Ratzinger Class' will follow with articles and reportage the events in Europe.
